"I want to paint for people. I’m interested in more than just faces, forms, or the pages of People magazine. I want to look past the facade, and I want to talk about social issues. In this web page age of information, we are often bombarded with images; generally cropped, framed, and edited. Through the process of clicking links, searching related topics, and swimming through the endless ocean of information that is the internet I conduct my research. In attempt to deliver information in a way one might absorb it while browsing the internet. I offer crowded, overlapping compositions designed to ask questions. Primarily working with oil paint on canvas, my paintings are big, bright, and demanding of your attention. I encourage the viewer to consider the imagery as pieces of the puzzle, to empathize with the people they see, and to investigate the questions at hand."
